Pick one of these creative book reports
to celebrate the end of your Joseph Bruchac book!

Due: Tuesday, April 27th

1. Newspaper:  Create a fictional front page of a newspaper for your book. Include 2 short stories and 2 black and white pictures from the book to show the plot, characters and setting.

2. Tangram picture: Create a picture of a scene from your book using tangrams.  Then, paraphrase what happened in your book in one paragraph.  See Ms. Sample for the tangrams.

3.  Poem or song: Your poem or song can be used to explore any and all aspects of a book. It can be descriptive of a character, setting, problem, solution or all of the above.  It should be at least a page long.  See Ms. Sample for help with editing.

4. Character Mask: Create a mask of the main character.  Then, write at least 5 main traits of the character and 5 quotes from the character to support the traits on the back of the mask.  See Ms. Sample for tag board to make the mask.

5. Game board: Create a game board to show the major events in your story.  Make game pieces and create rules so you can actually play it.  Create obstacles for the players.  See Ms. Sample for the tag board.

6. Creative Catalog: Your catalog will contain drawings and descriptions of things you read about in your book.  You will decide the price of important items in your book.  See Ms. Sample for the Catalog worksheet.

7. Postcard:  Make two postcards the main character would have written to someone else in the story.  Make sure to write about important parts in the book and draw detailed pictures from the setting.  See Ms. Sample for the Postcard worksheet.

8. Trading Cards: Make trading cards for at least three main characters in your book.  Include a picture, important traits and facts about your characters.  See Ms. Sample for the Trading Cards worksheet.

9. Friendly letter: Write a one-page letter to Joseph Bruchac telling him what you think of the book you read.  Give supporting reasons to show why you liked his book.  Draw and color one picture of a scene from your book to include with your letter. 

10.  Movie or Videogame:  Plan and draw the important scenes or levels of a movie or videogame based on your book.  Write one sentence to describe each scene or level.  Be sure to include the most important parts of your book.  See Ms. Sample for the worksheet.
